Hello Rotaxians,
It has been a few weeks since I have
last reported to you all. I have been doing a lot of traveling and I
am finally home after making the trip with Team USA to AL Ain, UAE. I
had a blast with all the drivers and mechanics from around the
country during the 2011 Rotax Grand Finals. It was an experience that
I will never forget. We had a great Team!
I then
traveled directly to Florida for the Performance Racing Industry
Show. The show started off with a hit, the Red Bull Kart Fight
sponsored by Rotax engines was a huge success and I am looking forward
to next year all ready. The actual show held in the Orlando
convention center is full of racing products and is definitely worth a
visit.
During the last several weeks the MAXSpeed Group
has been working diligently to produce a suitable structure and
schedule for all 2012 Rotax Max Challenge Events in the United
States. Please read below as it contains information about the 2012
Grand Nationals and the 2012 Pan American Challenge.
August 7th – 11th, 2012 in South Bend, IN
Michiana Raceway Park
The
2012 Grand Nationals structure will be the same as in the past. It
will be required to have a minimum of 4 “punches” to participate in the
2012 Grand National Event. These punches will be awarded after
participating in RMCUS series races only.
The
event will award the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place drivers in the Junior
Max, Senior Max, DD2 and DD2 Masters a ticket to the 2012 Rotax Max
Challenge Grand Finals.
September 20th – 23rd, 2012
Location TBA (western United States)
The
2012 Pan American Rotax Max Challenge structure has been changed from
the previous years to assist international participation and continued
program growth.
The 2012 Pan American Structure will be as follows:
It
will again be a stand-alone, one race championship event, requiring a
minimum number of "punch" races to attend. The winner in the Junior
Max, Senior Max, DD2 and DD2 Masters classes will each receive a ticket
to the 2012 Rotax Max Challenge World Finals.
The Pan Am Championship Event will require a minimum of 6 "punch" races to participate. Punches will be awarded accordingly:
- · Florida Winter Tour and Gatorz Challenge of the Americas: Each event weekend will count as one punch
- · United States Grand Nationals: This event will also count as one punch
- · Any official
Rotax Max Challenge race day; USRMC or International, will count as a
punch towards the 2012 Pan American Challenge Championship Event.
The
2012 Pan American Challenge Championship Event will once again be an
international race. Any properly licensed driver, from any country, who
completes the minimum number of "punch" races will be eligible to
attend.
The 2012 Pan Am Championship Event will take place on
September 20-23, 2012 at a to-be-announced location in the western
United States.
2011 Pan Am Administrator Formula Kart Productions
will continue as the program administrator for 2012. Bill Wright
provided a successful 2011 Pan Am program with impressive growth and
we're excited to have FKP back for 2012.
